It was originating from Adana, Turkey. It is the juice of purple carrot pickles, salted, spiced and flavored with turnip and fermented in barrels. Normally it will be served cold.

It was believed that turnip juice have a healing criteria for prevention of cancer. Turnip juices contain high calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Turnip juices also are very rich in vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin C. They are very useful in cases of rapid pulse, physical weakness, tender joints, stammering, poor appetite and digestive disturbance. Turnip leaves contain more calcium than any other vegetable. Cooked as any other leafy green vegetable, it is an excellent food for growing children.

Turnip juices are also good for the elimination of uric acid from the body which is good for the over weight persons and gout sufferers. Turnip is very high in sulphur and is sometimes gas forming. Fresh and young turnip normally is used raw in salads.
